Born and raised on the east coast, Dan spend his formative years in New York City before relocating to Los Angeles, where he worked as the General Manager of Son of Gun (Bon Appetit's Best New Restaurant Finalist), as well as behind notable bars including Bar Clacson (James Beard Semi-Finalist, Time Out LA Best New Bar), No Name, and Ace Hotel DTLA. Dan has been recognized as one of Zagat's "30 Under 30".
In 2012, Dan hosted a series of underground cocktail pop-ups he called The Whaling Club. Drawing inspiration from Southern California's seasonal markets and cultural diversity, these intimate cocktail parties allowed Dan to refine his unique perspective on cocktails and acted as a launching pad for what would become LA's leading cocktail production company.
Today, Whaling Club offers a personalized approach to event production, brand integration, cocktail and recipe development, and social media strategy. Through this, they have helped shape drinking culture beyond the cocktail bar. Dan and his team have produced events for A-list clients, global brands, and media publications.
